I hope that you have enjoyed the New Year festivities and
that you have not gained too much weight! Are you ready to go to work now with
all of your “heart, might, mind and strength?” (D&C 4:2). The field is
white and ready to harvest and I am excited to see what we can accomplish! We
have new missionaries coming this week and will have an infusion of enthusiasm
and faith.
This week we will also say goodbye to our dear friends and
fellow servants, Elder and Sister Wheeler. They have labored tirelessly during
the time they have been here and we have all been blessed by their love and
service. Unfortunately, we do not currently have a couple coming to replace
them. In the interim, please make the following changes:
Distribution
We are implementing an online system for ordering
proselyting supplies and materials. You should have been emailed a training
video on the procedure. We have also established a “storehouse” of supplies and
materials at the Schwieder’s apartment for missionaries in the Gaoxiong and Tainan
zones. We ask that you plan in advance and order your supplies around the time
of zone conferences and interviews as much as possible. Please use this and
give us your feedback.
Because move call is next Monday (March 2) PLEASE DO NOT
PLACE ANY ONLINE orders until AFTER the move call comes out Saturday night.
If you are in the Taizhong or Taizhong North zones, AND are
remaining in your area after the move call, you may place an online order in
the mission office AFTER zone conference, which will be held on Tuesday, 3/3.
You can assemble your order afterwards.
If you are in the Zhongxing, Jiayi, Tainan, or Gaoxiong
zones, AND are remaining in your area after the move call, you may place an online
order on Monday, 3/2. Orders will be ready for pick up at zone conference,
which will be held Thursday, 3/5.
If you are in the Gaoxiong East or West zones, AND are
remaining in your area after the move call, you may place an online order on
Monday, 3/2. Orders will be ready for pick up at zone conference, which will be
held Friday, 3/6.
Apartment Repairs and Furnishing
Direct any apartment problems to the Operations Manager. We
ask that you text him and remember that he is busy with many responsibilities
and now has even more. He will call you back as soon as possible. Please be
patient.
CO Monitors: Call President with any CO monitor
problems/alarms.
As zone conferences will be held next week as mentioned
above, you will receive two talks to study in preparation for our zone
conferences. They will be emailed to you today from Elders Gassman and Jardine.
Please take time to read and ponder the messages in these talks. Come to zone
conference prepared with your insights, comments and questions so that we can
learn together some concepts that will help us in our personal conversion and
in accomplishing our missionary purpose of inviting and helping others to come
unto Christ. These discussions are often one of the highlights of our zones
conferences.
I know that the Lord hears and answers our prayers. He is aware
of our needs, both personally and as a mission. It is our privilege to see
miracles and witness His grace as we labor in His service. It is also our
privilege to come to know our Savior and Redeemer more personally than we could
otherwise know Him as we represent Him. I love these words which He spake unto
Jeremiah:
For I know the thoughts that I
think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give
you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto
me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when
ye shall search for me with all your heart.
I pray that we may be among those who are “searching for
[him] with all [our] heart[s].” I testify that as we do, we will find him.

in order to come to Taiwan. Please continue to pray for them.
PPS. We currently have 30 baptisms for the month of
February. We have 16 week A baptismal goals. Let’s exercise our faith and help
all of our baptismal goals roll over.
